This painting idea came to me during a conference I was painting at during worship. The Pastor spoke to the audience & said "You know your all virgins"...everybody cheered in agreement, but then he said "but only 50% of you are going to make it!!" (Referencing the parable of the 10 Virgins)
That hit me like a ton of bricks! I don't want to be an unprepared one!!
Immediately this image came into my mind. My lamp, buring brightly & full of revelation light.
There are several special things about this painting
#1 - As I was randomly spraying the stars onto the background sky - the image of a person/heavenly being appeared with 4 or 5 spots of fire burning at its feet
#2 - Impregnated into the oil paint is actual "meteorite" dust! There is heavenly rock layered into the paint on the left wall and the night sky
#3 - & the most incredible - the flame on this lamp is still visible in a completely dark room! Yes that is a fact, the light in this painting glows in the dark - its the wildest thing I've ever seen.
