Zephaniah 3:17
The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you, in his love he will no longer rebuke you,
but will rejoice over you with singing.”
Story:
This painting has an incredibly special meaning for me.
One morning I was straightening the bed covers. As I pulled back the sheet there was a little picture sitting right there next to my pillow. I was in shock, I hadn't seen this picture in a long time and I had only been out of bed a few minutes, I knew it wasn't there before! Knowing then my Angels had placed it there, I looked more closely at the image. The picture had a date on it, Nov 1966. It was a picture of me, asleep, in a large box laying sideways in the lawn of my grandparents farm. Memories came flooding back of this sweet time in my life. I was 4 years old and life was good!
I continued to look at the image, then said to myself...Ahhhhh this must be what "Rest" looks like, the "Rest" of God, simple, sweet, peaceful, no complications or worries....just sweet peace!
Then all of a sudden, in a vision, I saw the Lion, resting behind the box, his head back, singing a sweet melody to the child.
Not even knowing if there was a verse in the Bible about God singing....I Googled it and wow, what a surprise when I found Zeph 3:17 (above)
I then knew this was my next painting, little did I know the journey was just to begin.
As I painted this piece, God was continually speaking to me. During my prior painting piece he had been talking about "First Love" so that was clearly in my heart and mind.
I kept hearing Him say...First Love, First Love...
but in my mind this painting was about Him singing and what it was He was singing to me about.....
Then the moment came when He said to me
"Pkay...I've been singing over you your whole life!
Every moment of your life, since before you were born, I was singing over you....
When you made every bad decision, I was singing over you...
With every drink you took and every drunken experience you had, I was singing
With every relationship you were in, good or bad, every marriage, I was singing"
Pkay....I wasn't talking about your "First Love" for me
I was talking about my "First Love" for you!
I sing...you are my worthy one, you are my beloved one, you are MY child
and I sing over you all I have in store for you, your magnificent destiny! "
Ohhhhhhh how I wept, I wept for days & days. I'm still weeping as I write this now.
The pure gravity of His "First Love" began to hit me, how vast, how deep it is.
His love for us is AMAZING and I probably will never fully comprehend it.
I am still processing all that has been revealed to me while completing this work, what HIs love really looks like to me and embedding THAT into my DNA, my being, my "identity".
This painting isn't just about me, it's about you too.
This is a small representation of Father God's Amazing Love for you!
If He sings over me - He's been singing over you for all eternity as well.
We are HIS children, a product of His seed..which is His word.
He sings over you and your children and your children's children forever Amen.
My hope is that this painting will release His "Rest" to you, His Peace, and the undeniable truth of His "First Love" for you!
