11 x 17 Archival On Fine Art Paper
I started this painting on Easter Sunday 2021
I had been meditating on what Jesus did for me on the cross that day.
Having not only died for me - He died "as me"
As he hung there upon that cross, he saw my face, my destiny, he knew me!
I heard the words "My crown bears your name"
I knew in that moment that if I would have been the only person alive on planet earth he still would have gone to the cross for just me...
I saw his crown of thorns morphing and spelled out my personal name "pam" as it sat on his forehead.
I then saw the thorns grow into a royal golden crown overpowering the thorns.
...so powerful...so overwhelming...so humbling!
I immediately knew it needed to become a painting, but struggled on how to make it universal to all, yet still personal to all.
Jesus pointed me to "my name" as a whole sentence ......and it clicked "my name" belongs to each one of us, individually, personally.
Therefore, woven into the thorns, are the words "My Name"
A simple representation of all of humanity
His final words "It is Finished" were spoken to each one of us individually as a truth for each of us to step into..
Each print will be originally & personally signed by me.
