The Story:
I was meditating on the Hebrew Tabernacle one day & seeing how the sacrifices took place
As the animals are brought into the outer court, they can see & smell the blood of those gone before them
They become full of fear & terrified, this releases a chemical into their blood making it unclean for sacrifice, therefore the shepherd & priests will surround the animal, stroking & speaking to it to calm it down. They tell it how much it is loved & blessed. They just love on the animal until its fears are vanquished.....
So as I am meditating on this scene ... all of a sudden Jesus appears in front of the burning altar
He looks at that lamb & in his eyes I see overwhelming passion for the lamb
He walks straight up to the lamb, gently takes its head in His hand, wipes the tears from its eye & speaks ...
"I Got This - you don't have to go. I'll take your place"
Then suddenly - the lamb ..... becomes me!
There is a hidden elements within this painting:
- The tear is a roughly shaped Hebrew letter "Hey" which symbolizes "breath" - its the same "breath" God breathed into Adam upon his creation
- The lambs eye reflects the "royalty" he is gazing upon - shades of purple
- The background is shades of red with a partial glaze overlay in spot of violet to represent the royalty & the blood
